Gnosall Christmas Carnival – Christmas Light Switch-On gets BIGGER and BRIGHTER for 2025!

This year Gnosall Parish Council are shaking things up a bit and making the annual Christmas Light Switch-On event even BIGGER & BRIGHTER!

Published: 16 October 2025

This festive celebration offers a full afternoon of seasonal magic, community spirit and family fun! The Gnosall Christmas Carnival will take place on Saturday the 29th of November between 1pm and 6pm, with the official Christmas Light Switch-on at 5.30pm (and those will be brighter this year too!)

The Grosvenor Centre site will be transformed into a festive hub for Gnosall’s Christmas Carnival, which will extend throughout the afternoon and across the entire site, creating a festive event for our entire community to come together and celebrate the magic of Christmas, with something for everyone, no matter what your age!

The Christmas Carnival will host live performances, walk-a-bout entertainment, a Christmas Market, family attractions, raffle, lantern competition, and the main Christmas Lights Switch-on event at 5.30pm with Santa and the Town Crier.

Christmas Market

The Christmas Market will span the site with stalls inside the Grosvenor Centre, in the merry marquee on the lawn, and outdoors on the carpark. The Market will feature a variety of handmade crafts, seasonal treats, festive food and drink, and is arranged by ACP Bars and Events in conjunction with the Parish Council, as well as community stalls, games, tombola’s and even a sneaky Elf Trail!

Live Entertainment

This year we are hiring a professional trailer stage, with integrated sound, lighting and a snow machine! The stage will host performances from the St. Lawrence School Choir and dance troupe, the Gnosall Singers as well as other local groups and performers, showcasing local talent and promoting community pride. The Gnosall Hand Bell Ringers will be performing in the Grosvenor Centre Hall during the afternoon.

North Staffs Storm Troopers

North Staffs Storm Troopers will be roaming the grounds during the afternoon creating interactive experiences and photo opportunities for visitors of all ages.

Twinkle the Shetland pony

And Twinkle the Shetland pony will be at the Christmas Carnival too, waiting for people to stop by and say hello.

There will be festive face painting, brilliant balloon twisting and so much more.

Santa’s Grotto

Children will be able to book in to see Santa and his elves in Santa’s Grotto and tell the man in the big red hat what they would like for Christmas. Booking is required and each child will receive a small gift. Letters to Santa can also be dropped off at this event and each letter will receive a response from the big man himself.

Visit Santa in his grotto

With live local entertainment on our professional stage, indoor & outdoor Christmas market, games, Christmas Raffle, Santa’s Grotto, mulled wine and mince pies, Twinkle the Shetland Pony, STORM TROOPERS, face painting, balloon twisting and much, much more, we hope the whole community will come along and get into the Christmas spirit.

Please note there will be no parking at the Grosvenor Centre this year. We encourage residents to walk in into the Grosvenor Centre and see what our High Street has to offer on the way. Many businesses will be open late, or opening early, and offering Christmas Specials, so make sure you shop local and support our community.

The Gnosall Christmas Carnival 2025 is free to attend and open to all. With an exciting programme of festive activities, live entertainment, and community involvement, it promises to be a magical day for residents and visitors alike. So, wrap up warm and make sure you join us for this an action-packed afternoon of festive fun for the whole family.
