Sponsored lock-In @ the Old Lock-Up

Three Gnosall Parish Councillors have agreed to be LOCKED UP overnight in the Old Lock-Up on Sellman Street to raise money for community causes as part of GFEST 2026.

Scheduled: 16 July 2026 - 20:30 to 00:00

Sponsor our three councillors, Mike Sullivan, Bob Middleton and Keith Parry,  as they find out what it was like to be locked-up in the local lock-up in the mid 1800’s. No phones, no heating, just a few candles(LED of course), some straw to sleep on, a bucket, and a few snacks to keep them going.

Date: Thursday 16th – Friday 17th July

Lock-in time: 8.00pm ( get there early to see them arrive!)

Let out time: 7.00am Friday morning, followed by a hearty Break-Out breakfast at the Grosvenor Centre at 7.30am, £5 booking required.

Venue: The Old Lock-Up, Sellman Street

Come along and watch our three councillors being incarcerated for the evening. We hope to release them for good behaviour the following morning. You can also find out about some of the Lock-up’s previous inhabitants, the history of the prison and how it came to be where it is today, form the Gnosall Heritage Group and the Gnosall Jambusters.
